USDLA Honors Mosaica’s Co-founder with Outstanding Leadership For Excellence in Distance Learning Award

Dr. Dawn D. Eidelman, co-founder and Chief Education Officer of Mosaica Education was honored yesterday evening by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) with the world’s most prestigious distance learning award presented for excellence in distance learning: Outstanding Leadership by an Individual in the Field of Distance Learning.

The prestigious USDLA International Awards are presented annually to organizations and individuals engaged in the development and delivery of distance learning programs. Included in the recognition ceremony were awards for 21st Century Best Practices, Best Practices for Distance Learning Programming, Best Practices for Excellence in Distance Learning Teaching, Outstanding Leadership by an Individual, Hall of Fame and the Eagle for an elected official.

In addition to Dr. Eidelman, Mosaica Education was also represented by Ms. Brenda Wallace, an outstanding Mosaica Online teacher, who was also honored with a Best Practices Award for Distance Learning Teaching.

Flores, Executive Director of USDLA. “Dr. Eidelman has raised the bar of excellence and we are truly honored by her leadership of Mosaica’s Education Department and development of the Paragon Curriculum as contributions to the distance learning industry.”

The USDLA Awards were created to acknowledge major accomplishments in distance learning and to highlight those distance learning instructors, programs, and professionals who have achieved and demonstrated extraordinary results through the use of online, videoconferencing, satellite and blended learning delivery technologies.

“This year’s USDLA Award recipient, Dr. Eidelman, represents the finest example of leadership in our field. The depth and breadth of the USDLA membership allows us to engage with leaders from higher education, K-12, industry, military, government who daily demonstrate the power of distance learning. We are so very proud and excited to be able to recognize this level of excellence,” said Dr. Rob Robinson, President of USDLA.

Mosaica Education, Inc., Regional Vice President, Chad Carr Recognized by Partners for Success and Innovation

Atlanta, Ga. (Mosaica Education, Inc.) October 5, 2010 – Chad Carr, Regional Vice President was recently recognized by Partners for Success and Innovation (PSI) for his work on strategically increasing academic achievement in Columbus area schools. PSI offers high-quality services to help students improve their grades, attitudes, health and behavior.

Carr currently works a dual-role; he serves as the Regional Vice President for six Mosaica network schools in Ohio and the Chief Administrative Officer for Columbus Preparatory Academy (CPA). CPA is located at 1850 Airport Highway, Toledo, OH. 43609.

Carr played a key role in boosting student achievement at CPA. Under his leadership, the school made continuous gains. In 2007, the overall school academic performance score was a modest 67. The academic performance score increased to 69, in 2008, and 83 in 2009. By 2010, CPA’s overall school academic performance soared to 92.

As a result of Carr’s exceptional leadership skills, he received the Mosaica Education Regional Vice President of the Year, last year, and the Rising Star Award, the previous year.

Mosaica Leadership Institute 2010

We are excited to announce the next Mosaica Leadership Institute Talent Development Academy will be launched in March 2010.  The Mosaica Leadership Institute Talent Development Academy is designed to develop and identify future leaders for Mosaica schools. The internal training program provides educational leaders the tools they need to wield a dramatic impact on excellence in public education.
Mosaica Leadership Institute participants attend interactive workshops that provide them with key information, strategies and resources to hone their skills as true instructional leaders.  They will also gain the tools needed to lead and support their teachers successfully in creating an effective classroom, implementing the curriculum and, in turn, helping all students meet state standards.
The series of two day sessions will be scheduled from March through June, 2010.
Sessions include:
• Mosaica Education’s leading role in the industry in education reform with program innovation
o Paragon Curriculum – SmartBoard and Online Learning
o Four tiers of Teacher Training.
• Increasing student achievement through data-driven instruction
• Finance & accounting
• Hiring, training and mentoring of employees
• Understanding our customer
• Charter school law and development
• Creating systems to foster and support community building

Individuals selected to participate in the program are expected to make a significant commitment of time and energy to the Mosaica training workshops. We are currently accepting applications for the 2010 program.

Qualifications:  Masters Degree in education or related field, as well as a minimum of three years experience as a CAO/principal or related position of school leadership.  Applicants will be asked to provide data that illustrates gains made in achieving AYP.
