Fell Charter School Makes Gains on ITBS
Fell Charter School is proud to announce that it has participated with the Michigan State University in a study of ITBS Results (Iowa Test of Basic Skills).
Mosaica Education, Inc. the management partner with Fell Charter School provided data of all their schools for the study. “The study confirmed what Fell Charter staff has been saying all along.” commented Mary Jo Walsh, Principal and CAO. “In short, the longer a child stays enrolled in our rigorous program the better the increase in testing scores we see. Fell students had an overall 7.2 Norm Curve Equivalent (NCE) gain from Fall 2007 to Spring 2008, consistent with the upward spiral system-wide in Mosaica schools.”
The Policy Center at Michigan State University, noted ”…The improvement in …scores indicated that the two school years (2005-2006 and 2006-2007) analyzed, provide strong evidence that students in the Mosaica Model education schools are closing the achievement gaps in key subject areas of language arts and mathematics. Schools made ‘statistically significant gains’”.
Ms. Walsh added, “Knowing that our Educational model works is not a surprise to me or to any member of our staff. We offer a world-class model that is implemented with integrity to research-based design, and with the customization needed for data-driven instruction in every classroom.
